This installment of our regular survey of MedTech Innovator cohort companies focuses on ophthalmic device start-ups addressing unmet clinical needs and underserved markets in ophthalmology. The three companies we have selected to profile are bringing advanced technologies—nanotechnology, quantum dots, and a novel embodiment of low-frequency ultrasound—to degenerative eye conditions, with the goal of raising the standard of care, not only from the standpoint of clinical efficacy, but also patient well-being. All have participated in the MedTech Innovator accelerator for promising medtech start-ups.
