Today’s digitally connected, consumer-focused world promises to transform healthcare delivery in ways we could not have imagined 10 or 20 years ago. The Internet of Things has already dramatically changed the way we perform many routine tasks—such as paying bills, purchasing goods and services, staying connected with friends and loved ones, and even exercising—and ongoing advances in high-speed wireless connectivity; artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data analysis; and miniaturized, wearable biometric sensors, coupled with a move toward more patient-friendly and cost-effective care options, is beginning to transform healthcare as well.
